The Challenge

A large customer came to KYNTEC Corporation needing a specialized vibration damper to control the fairly large vibration deflections on the platform they were designing. The challenge here was this product needed to be designed and built in two weeks from scratch. This product needed a sub-linear force velocity relationship with a specific damping constant. This was a challenge given that the customer was still designing and modeling so the operating parameters were not available until late in their design process. Since the customer knew the history of KYNTEC Corporation they knew we would provide a solution to meet all their cost and performance requirements.

The KYNTEC Solution

KYNTEC Corporation provided this product which worked right out of the box. This product is manufactured from 100% stainless steel. It will control a large range of inputs and has the ability to compensate for extreme environmental conditions. The internal control provides for smooth operation high energy dissipation and choice of materials makes these KYNTEC vibration dampers the product of choice.

Other Applications

This product is very versatile and can be scaled diameter and stroke. If is modular to provide sub-linear, linear and traditional velocity power functions. It can be used in seismic bracing, crane gimbals, offshore oil platform docking systems as well as a variety of military and defense applications requiring vibration, rate or force control.
